Types of In-Home Care

CareFirst, a locally owned company, is dedicated to improving the lives of our clients with quality in-home care.

Whether you need long-term in-home care services or care after surgery, injury or illness, our experienced nurses and caregivers are your partners in good health.

Services are available from 4 to 24 hours to fit your needs. Let our experienced team provide support through personalized care plans. .

Sitters / Companions

We provide extra support and companionship for clients in their home, hospital, or other facility. We strive to engage clients when appropriate with books, games, letter writing, or simple conversation. We offer the extra support clients need.

Bath Service

A caregiver comes to the client’s home and provides a bath plus help with dressing and grooming. During a two-hour bath session, as time permits, the caregiver will change linens, straighten the sleeping area and start a load of laundry.

Personal Care

CareFirst provides assistance with Daily Living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, personal grooming, dressing and meals. Caregivers can provide showers, baths, and shampoos, even if a client is bedridden. Special attention is given to bedsore prevention. Privacy and respect are a priority so even the most modest client can feel at ease. ADL assistance reduces strain on clients and families and is part of our process for wellness.

Medication Management

CareFirst caregivers can remind and assist with administering medication as prescribed by a doctor. Simply provide us with a written medication schedule.

Alzheimer’s Care

CareFirst caregivers are certified by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) Partners in Care. In addition, they are trained to support individuals living with dementia through Dementia Care Professionals of America (DCPA), a division of AFA. We employ engaging, practical, and accessible tools to achieve our goal–peace of mind for clients and families who are impacted by this disease.

Errand Service

We help clients maintain their normal routine as much as possible. CareFirst caregivers are all licensed, insured drivers who can accompany clients to doctors offices, or just run errands for them.

Light Housekeeping

CareFirst caregivers can perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, changing sheets, doing laundry and taking out garbage.

Physical Therapy

We offer private pay in-home physical therapy when ordered by a physician. The therapist will assess needs and provide services at your home. The goal is to promote recovery and strength.

Personal Trainer

Working with your own personal trainer, you will receive quality care on your schedule with a plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. The aim of this program is to assist our client in continuing to improve following traditional outpatient or inpatient physical therapy.

Skilled Nursing Services

Experienced nurses offer skilled care such as wound care, including wound vacs. Other skilled services are available as needed.

Meal Preparation

If a home-cooked meal is important to you, CareFirst caregivers can cook, clean up and generally plan and assist with mealtime.

Nutrition Services

Healthy food is good medicine. If this is a priority, our caregivers are here to help with meal planning, preparation and clean up. Proper nutrition boosts immunity and overall health.

Alzheimer's Specialists

CareFirst caregivers are all certified by the Alzheimer’s Association (Cares Program). In addition, they are experienced in dealing with dementia patients. Applied knowledge equals experience, and our goal is to bring peace of mind to family members who are impacted by this disease.
